Hi you all,
I've soldered the voltage core to 9V(sorry 1.9),and strange enough, my PHILIPS-SCASI RW won't start and its light will remain red until I dont discharge the CMOS.
It can run with the voltage riassested in the BIOS to any other value.
I recentely soldered the multiplier of my 700(800 core) to 9x.
Cache 2/5, easy stable @950.(Ka7-100 Mobo).
Shall I solder the voltage to a different value? or change my Rewritable?
Thank's.

Firstly, I assume you mean 1.9V, not 9V.
It is unlikely that changing V core would directly affect your CD-RW. The most likely problem is that your power supply is too small. What Wattage do you have now? It should be at least 300W for your system.

Yes, sorry is 1.9 Volts.
The power supply is 250 Watts, but strangely the CD-RW works perfectely with a different voltage (1.85,1.95,2.00,2.05).
Anyway, the scasi has been always too sensitive to overclocking in general, only this last behave looks very funny...
I'm mouving some cards around and reinstalling Windows98, maybe will solve the problem...

you are aware that your processor draws more than 75 watts? and being a 250psu , it sounds cheap. probably doesnt even achieve that rating acceptably, check your voltages when cpu under load and MAKE SURE they are in safe ranges. if voltages change when cpu goes from Load to unloaded a dead mobo/cpu/harddrive are on the way, i know... i fried my athlon slot 1 1ghz that way!!!!!

I'm running my system on a 230watt psu.....

No, I think the power supply is not the problem, I resoldered the Voltage to 1.95 and everything works fine.
I pushed even the processor up to 900@1/2, and lasted until I started to use some eavvy program like photoshop.(impossible to reboot after that without going back to 2/5).
Now I just try somethime to increase the FSB, but onestly, I'm very happy running @ 900-2/5.
1 Gig @1/3 is possible but seams more stable in the way i'm running it courrentely.

cant argue with those results, although i wonder if having a massive 550watt would help even a little.
perhaps i just got a weak psu.
