Project HashClash
... Finding that block on a single Pentium4 3Ghz would take approx. 800 days of 24/7 continous running. We hope by combining the computational powers of many pc's to find this block much faster.

Guess what...
They'll finish the project faster than they thought and...
this will be an archived project before it appears on DC-Vault.
This is a good exemple of power of DCing.

No Team-TNT... Ninja will solve the problem without our help. :p

Well I'll take it from the sticky thread. I might leave it there for awhile just in case

account creation will be disabled for now.

doesn't qualify for the Vault as per rules.

They disabled the account creaton NVM because they only have a p3 500mhz as the server and when I mentioned the Vault and the added extra people it would bring.. Account creation was disabled..

Might have been other things but we'll watch over it and see what comes of it

Hi Russkriss !

You wrote : "The Admin have asked for this project NOT to be added until the new server is in place."

But saying the project is watched by the Vault, even not adding it on the vault certainly already made teams joining the project.

If we look at best teams in the vault, we can see most of them are already involved in this proj. I don't think adding the project to the vault would change many things...

Why is this project listed under physical science?
HashClash is doing cryptographic research, so it should be listed under mathematical along with RC5-72.

Shall be changed, thanks for the notice.

 Picard are currently ranked 17 on TC and 11 on RAC in HashClash, but the Vault stats have us not participating in the project

DPC seem to have been similarly hit.

Picard are also marked as not participating in Prime Sierpinski Problem - Sieve (currently ranked #8).

What Teams have to do is fill out a 'Edit Team Project' at the links below. I would love to have added all Teams in all projects but you can imagine has long that would take, so it's much easier to get the Teams to provide us with the information. Currently we have about 350 Teams in the Vault and currently tracking 35 project.

www.dc-vault.com
then click on the edit team button
or ->
http://www.dc-vault.com/update.php?do=update

I have added HashClash and Prime Sierpinski Problem - Sieve to Team Picards Vault entry.. It will show up after tonights Stats run.... ;)

This project hasn't had work for over a month now. It is supposed to have work again at some point in the future, when it moves on to the next phase, but there is no indication of when that will be. I just wondered if there is a certain period after which a project is removed from the Vault?

russkris
15th August 2006, 12:02 AM
It is there now, so it will stay, unless it closes down

wyles
15th August 2006, 01:37 AM
No defined period - if its likely to get more work then no reason it cant stay, but if it goes on too long then it should probably be removed.

Is it me, or the project do not send new WUs to crunch ?

Is it me, or the project do not send new WUs to crunch ?

Ben non, y'a pas de WUs en ce moment... et ça date pas d'hier !

Si je comprends bien ce qu'en dit Marc sur le forum officiel,
http://boinc.banaan.org/hashclash/forum_thread.php?id=72
il rédige sa thèse en ce moment (Hashclash faisait partie de sa thèse), et espère revenir s'occuper du projet après...

Mais comme il le dit si bien :
BOINC is very well capable of doing work for more than one project.
So there is no need to wait or to disconnect from HashClash.
Your help is really appreciated here!

P.S. : Pourquoi je me mets à écrire en français moi ?
