Is there any chance of this project being added to the DC Vault stats. It is a BOINC project as well.

Here is a link : https://fwnc7003.leidenuniv.nl/Classical/

Well, the feeder scheduling has been validated and the cgi schedular has been optimized. People should now get a better responce for work when requested... We'll have to watch it for the time being though. Furthermore, a good sugestion is to hit the project 'update' button and the project 'reset' button, in that order, in the manager once a week. It turns out that the verion updating isn't yet optimal and you might want to get the latest application binary ;-). Time to investigate the error reports now ;-)... Happy crunching...

I'd say give it a couple weeks. If basic functions like updating/getting work need high maintenance on the user's part, it usually shows a beta stage. Let it mature and I see no reason to not add it then.

Time to give another watch at LeidenClassical here :

Looks to match with DC-Vault rules now !

It's running fine for me. I've had a couple times where it was a little stingy on giving out new work, but not lately. It's a hundred times more reliable than EON.

As far as BOINC projects running out of work, the only ones I haven't had run out of work at one time or another are the Climate Prediction's, but that's mainly because they take forever.:p I've had Predictor and uFluids both have hard times getting work at one time or another.:(

Don't forget Boinc-Projects don't have to be all build to give work 24/7.
On "rules and policies" on every Boinc projects, you're invited to set one or more other projects on your Boinc clients, so when a project is not sending any work to you, you can keep helping on something else.

It's one of the most important idea of Boinc.
It can be used to run "little" projects who need a big grid computer available for some time, but can be sleeping for days or more.

For Leiden, you can note the day results are asked for return is shorter than for most other Boinc Projects. They have tiny work for which they need as fast as possible return. That's certainly why they prefer send less work to more machines.

P.S. : Different conditions, different rules, (but same rules for all teams).
And TNT is once more better than Ninjas :D .

indeed, they are restraining the work output, although it looks like they are opening it up a bit.

i've just checked my account and i see i've only had 1 job on the go in the past 2 hours. not good. as i'm at work, i can not manually download more work and if i only get 1 WU every couple hours( my preferences are set for connect every 1/2 hour), its not worth it for me to continue running this, although i will try again every couple days to see if this improves.

What, no one from Ninja can try a new project until it's in the vault?

Plenty of them are trying it. I'm just saying it probably won't make it into the Vault until Team Ninja can increase their standings enough that they don't lose even more ground to us and Norway.:p

WOW! A whole 3 people... Come on, why don't ya start crunching it??

Get over it and start crunching.. There is no point of slagging off Team Ninja for trying a new project.. With the prob's everyone is having, with no work.. Whats the point of adding it..

But then again the thread was posted in a open forum, any one can read it...

I've had no issues on four machines for a better than week.

Lonewolf, I've only been with the Ninja's for a month or so and talked to no one about this project besides what you see in this thread. No conspiracy here dude...

ok Mr Baker. i'm going to give you a run for your money. i've added a comp with MMX technology..( i could be lying if thats all i added)...:D

on the serious side though, it looks like all the problems i've been having involve hyperthreading cpu's or dual core cpu's. i've fixed the HT problem(no more computational errors) but my Opteron still has problems. i notice when i go to view my computers in my account it doesn't recognize the cpu, it says "unknown". i'm thinking because it doesn't recognize the cpu, it doesn't allot it enough work per my account preferences. just a guess.

other than that, it runs pretty good on my other machines.(don't look behind you, LBaker)

and just before anyone jumps the gun.. LC will be added, it's just a matter of time.. Nano can code but not that fast, with everything else he does around Team Ninja..

Patience Please...

So go ahead and crunch to your hearts content

I have probably run it more than most (being in the top 5 overall) and can say it is not without it's problems, but they are minor compared to quite a few of the other BOINC projects (rosetta's 1% problem, continual outages at Seti come to mind). I have never ran out of work, but have had an occasional error message pop-up from connection problems, nothing to fret over though.

They've had some server issues and it's being addressed. This was posted on June 16

" Furthermore, at the end of this month the new dual core xeon em64t cpu's of Intel should be available here in the Netherlands. This means that our server will be delivered pretty soon! I'll keep you posted and you guys will be the first to know when the nodes are up and running so more users can join in!"
