Chess in theory is mathematically solveable ... Have a read at some of the figures involved and the problems :D ... Fascinating analysis of chess computers and why they do and dont work. Makes you wonder what chessbrain could have done given the power at its disposal with that sort of knowledge and understanding, which it appears they lacked. The ONE game (I believe) that was played against a human ended in a draw which if that article holds water there's no way it should have.
