Dnet update for 03-Aug-2003 to 04-Aug-2003

OGR-24 Completion Percentage: 98.68 (nc)

Well it was a good day all around today! …. In RC5 we actually gained a position back up #69 and we have TheOtherPhil to thank for that after his stunning dump of 1,170 units!. In OGR-25, we continued our slow climb (due to our focus on OGR-24) and have added two more places #244. In OGR-24 we are still at #13 but have had significant gains on all of our competitors (that’s what happens when you are #1 for the fourth consecutive day!!!) … I am thinking that it will be a week or so before we capture the #12 spot (in fact, we are likely to capture 12 and 11 on consecutive days … and #10 should be about 3 days after that). Dare we think about #9? … if we do … #8 is very close to #9 …. *wink*, *wink* … I suppose I should warn everybody … there is no chance whatsoever of taking the number one spot … in fact number 6 is impossible to consider … at least until we take #7 … lololololol!!!!!!!

Yesterday was amazing … when we took ½ of the top25 spots … today was only 6 of the top 25 … but we did capture #1 )(yes!!!!!)

Now …

We really need to do some honors today! We have had so much support from our “non-math” members. They have and continue to have a big difference in the team’s overall performance. So, without further ado …

>CrunchMaster< - TheOtherPhil – for a double crunch in our currently neglected RC5 team and in single-handedly regaining the #69 spot!
>POD< - Debbie Parker – for her self-sacrificing recent efforts in OGR-24, even though her preference (among Math projects) is RC5 … and she’d really rather be doing DF when push comes to shove … :D :D

Good Crunching to everyone! …

Great report again 10, and may I echo the thanks to our not so Mathematical team mates great effort and it is appreciated.

On a slightly separate issue I'll be heading for Sunnier Climes next week (kind of strange when we're about to hit 35C today  ) for a well earned rest. This does however leave me in a bit of a quandry, stack up on OGR-24 and hope that the project doesn't complete or swap to 25 / RC5 ? I'm going to be away for 2 weeks, so any thoughts ??

Great :read: as always, 10 - thanks for that.

Well done to everyone, especially those that aren't really accountants....oops errrr Maths peeps.

@LinearB - have a great hols m8 - and split it half way. The "farm" on 25/RC5, and the "home" on 24. Just a thought....:)

I AM NOT AN ACCOUNTANT!

Thanks for the POD - even though I don't really deserve it, when you look at the production of some of the big-hitters

You deserve it absolutely!

To quote the normal definition ... "POD - Producer Of the Day - highly subjective and at the whim of the commentator" ... so you are qualified absolutely simply becuase I am the commentator and I am allowed to be whimsical! More seriously ... The POD (in any of the teams) has never been about who produces the most ... if it was then it would be an extremely boring award indeed! It is about being the most notable producer on that day in the mind of that day's commentator (admittedly ... in the Math's forum, I seem to have a complete lock on the commentator position! LOL!). To me it is far more notable that you have chosen to go out of your way (not only in crunching a project that is not your normal first choice, but beyond that, crunching a less-favored sub-project) simply to help out the team! That definately makes you the POD! I'd give you a kiss as well if I were able (and didn't think your father would smack me up one side and down the other)!

Thanks for your help in OGR-24 ... it really means a lot to a number of people!

10

Realistically, I think the OGR-24 stubs will hold up just fine for the duration ... but that is a guess / educated at best and the situation is beyond the normal environment for the Dnet folks. To be absolutely safe ... don't crunch 24 ... if you feel like taking a minor chance ... crunch 24 like mad!

More than anything ... enjoy your hols ... and don't worry about DC projects a bit. k?

well i accidently used IE instead of Mozilla, and the names are in colours, I never knew that before.

Oh how often do you need to upload, do you need to do it manually, as I'm sure mine never uploads units until I do a manual fetch/flush.....
