Hey I was wondering if any of you were comp sci people... I am taking some classes on the side for fun. Anybody into java or c please respond, maybe we can help each other out if we get into a jam. Later,

My Java is on the level "I read and understand it but never made any projects in Java".
I'm working in C and ( most of the time ) C++.

I'm just in the first few months of learning Java on my MSc IT course, so I am a bit pants at the moment, but still better than a lot of people on my course cause I have done Perl for the past 3 years on and off!
If you need any help or to bounce Ideas off me ICQ me on 398229

I have a CS degree, and code in just about anything. Did you have any specific things you needed help with?

hehehe way to dig through the garbage playa. ;) i'm doing divide & conquer sorting on binary trees right now... I do find it somewhat confusing because this is my teachers 2nd year teaching... I don't even think HE understands it all that well. I'm a little stuck on priority queue's also. My teacher focuses on analysis of the complexity of each different method instead of making sure we understand what the method is... he doesn't even give us any code, all we have is basic cs111 java programming under our belts. We grab tid bits of code off of the sun site... but when it comes to program assignments, he writes the method headers for us and we have to fill the body. The sukky part is that if we don't understand the rationale behind how the outline works... it makes it very difficult to chose a data structure and actually code the proggy. I am hating java so much right now.
