Today around noon ESt a UH 60 with 13 US Army Soldiers crashed near Ft Drum. 2 Survived.

I was there 15 minutes after the crash, working on the few survivors. I just now got back in 11 and a half hours later.

I would ask that everybody who can, take a moment of silence for those 11 soldiers who lost their lives today, and to pray for their wives and children who are left behind.

Some days it's great to be a medic. Today, however something happened that we never ever hope to see.

Just saw this on the news here in the UK this morning - and when they said it was Fort Drum I wondered if you'd had to go and help out.

Thoughts and prayers with those who lose their lives :(

/edit:type

I never really know what to say at times like this, but to say that I too am reflecting on the loss and I feel comfort in the fact that these people died doing what they loved and in that their time on Earth has not been wasted.

The thoughts of these people and their families will be a constant reminder that we all should try to live life to the full.

God bless them.

It's hard to say in words how something like this affects me ... save that my heart goes out to the families and my thoughts to the souls of those now departed.

May I also add my condolences to those that have spoken before me. I am not good with words in situations like this, but I will certainly pray for the families of those involved, and for you too, Hawkeye - you deserve such attention as well.

Wow,. Hawkeye,. That is really sad. :(

I saw it in the news,. But I had forgotten that you were in that neck of the woods.

It is tragic regardless, .. but seems more so that the first casualties of a yet to be started conflict would be inflicted in this way,... here at home.

Thank you for the work you do. I am so glad that you were able to pull some survivors out of this disaster.
