*Global broadcast*

The MeadeFleet BattleStars "Victory" & "Independence" have now arrived in RC5 space.

Targetting scanners have identified the following vessels, and are preparing to engage:

"10:13's Mum"
"NickBrownsFan"

It is expected that little resistance will be found from these vessels - they are clearly based in chemical technology.

Long range sensors have identified another vessel - the "LinearB". Although this is clearly a more advanced technology, it appears to have been abandoned, and will therefore not require any special attention, other than to check for lifesigns when in targetting range.

First attempt to communicate with the Dnet homeworld failed. Another attempt - using the deep space relay station "Hawkeye" will begin shortly.

Contact was made with the deep space relay station "Hawkeye"

The BattleStars have successfully manouvered past the two vessels without incident. All dnet batteries are fully recharged.

Relay station "Hawkeye" confirms that transfer will be made to the Dnet homeworld - we expect confirmation of this from a stat-bot - the data should be available to all Commanders by 01:00 UT on the 11th.

Further announcements will be made as and when necessary.

The BattleStar "Victory" has detected an attempt by one of the vessels recently defeated to infiltrate the civilian support fleet.

It's attempt to change its appearance - and the renaming of the vessel to "Sydney Freedman" in honour of the mighty Leader from the 21st Century does nothing to persuade Central Command that it has truly converted.

All Commanders are warned to be on their guard for similar such attempts in the future.

Deep space relay station "Hawkeye" confirms that a stat-bot has been launched from the Dnet homeworld. It is expected to reach the BattleGroup within the next 3 hours.

*Global message*

The stat-bot has finally arrived from the Dnet homeworld, and it confirms the defeat of the two vessels as specified in earlier reports.

An attempt by the enemy on the BattleStar "Independence" has failed, but damage to the Dnet engines has occurred - the core temperature climbed to 69C due to a direct hit on the heatsink/fan, but engineers managed to save the engine before total failure occurred. It is now running at only 75% of capability, but the engineers confirm that full power should be available within the next 14 hours.

The stat-bot also contained details of the new engine upgrade from the Dnet homeworld. Although this is still in the experimental phase, the Commander of the BattleStar "Victory" has authorised its installation - details of stability, and any problems with it will be made available to Commanders through local channels.

A special authorisation has been given to the "Victory" to discharge its dnet batteries in order to install the upgrade. This is not to be taken as a direct assault on the next target - it is still out of range - but intelligence assures Central Command that it is safe to do so. Contact with the relay station "Hawkeye" will begin shortly.

The BattleStar "Independence" has completed repairs, and is now back up to full power. It is rapidly regaining distance lost, and will rejoin the Fleet within the next hour.

The "Victory" reports that the new engine upgrade is performing well, and has so far been stable. Output has increased to over 7,500,000 keys/second - a considerable improvement on the previous version. All Commanders are recommended to install this upgrade as soon as possible.

The vessel "Sydney Freedman" has attempted to make up ground on the Fleet - a small attack squadron has been dispatched, and will monitor the position of this vessel. If it attempts to close further, the squadron will deal with it - sub-commanders have notified Central Command that there are ample reserves in the batteries to deal with this.

Further bulletins will be issued to the Fleet as and when intelligence has concrete information.

*Global message*

Intelligence reports that the deep space relay station "Hawkeye" will be unmanned for the next 72 hours. Should there be any downtime, an emergency relay to the Dnet homeworld is available through one of the Fleet Support Vessels.

Commanders should redirect their Dnet batteries to "meady.servebeer.com" in the event of a communications breakdown with "Hawkeye". The tanker has refuelled, and is capable of supporting the entire Fleet for the next 72 hours.

No further information is available at this time. Acknowledgement from Commanders is not required by Central Command at this time.

Earlier intelligence has proved to be false. Obviously an attempt by the enemy to slow down the BattleGroup. An internal investigation is underway within the Intelligence Department to determine whether or not a mole exists.

Contact notes were sent to other BattleGroup Commanders notifying them of the problem with the tanker - several groups have already responded, and data-flow is going well.

A fighter unit was dispatched at maximum speed to confirm that the deep space relay station "Hawkeye" was still manned, and that the enemy hadn't, in fact, overrun the station. The Commander there was surprised, but pleased, to see the fighter, and confirmed on private channels that all was well.

Further information will be broadcast as and when it becomes available.

There have been some major developments since the last bulletin. The battle goes well on all fronts. Two of the biggest BattleStars have been in action, and have had outstanding successes.

The "Vinovia" has made a massive contribution, completing a direct link to the Dnet homeworld and has transferred nearly 3,000 units.

The "Terminator" has also brought more Dnet engines online, and has increased output by almost 200%.

All Commanders are urged to follow the superb lead set by these two vessels. Our position in the Galaxy is becoming more and more visible - this may well attract further homeworlds to join our noble cause.

"Terminator" can confirm that tests on the next generation cloaking device have been 100% successful as shown by the successful de-cloaking of 2 support vessels (1 yesterday and 1 today), other vessels will de-cloak over the next few days. I can also confirm that all but one of the battlegroup has been upgraded to warp core .481 from .477 and this is showing much improved drive efficency.

"Fallguy" can confirm that the new Munster class flagship is up and running, following extensive testing and problem solving with its second warp nacelle. Thanks are extended to NDW Labs for their assistance in this project. Further fleet enhancements are in the pipeline, including a experimental tri-nacelle starship, as well as extensive refits with the newer 0.481 warp cores (although the impact of the impact of the 0.481 cores on the twin nacelle P6 range has yet to be determined).

Central Command has received information from a reliable source that indicates there may be a possible conflagration within the next 24 hours.

Commanders are advised to make certain that their Dnet battereis are fully charged, and that attack squadrons are brought to an *alert* status.

Both the deep space relay station "Hawkeye" and the first alternate station "Meady" have been alerted, and are ready to start receiving completed units, with a full capacity to recharge all the Dnet batteries within the Fleet.

A warning of impending action will be sent to local Commanders as soon as the battle begins.

Both the "Victory" and the "Independence" are on full alert.

The reserve BattleStar "Spectrum" has been brought out of retirement, in case it is needed. Although it is poorly equipped, and its Dnet engine is severely underpowered, its crew are ready and willing to join in our struggle.

This shows the dedication of all the races involved in this mighty quest for glory.

*Urgent message*

Initial reports are coming in of a skirmish near the northern edge of the Fleet. Information is sketchy at this time, but Central Commend is now convinced this may be the precursor to a major conflagration.

Local Commanders are advised that all attack squadrons are now to be brought to "General Quarters"

The "Victory" is moving towards the site of the skirmish at maximum speed. The "Independence" is to remain with the main body of the armada, in case this is an attempt to draw our principal defence away.

Alternate-one relay station "Meady" reports incomings, although numbers are so far low. This could change suddenly - we must be prepared.

This is Central Command to all attack squadron Commanders. The following is being broadcast on all channels:

"This is Commander Heather Honey of the BattleStar "Victory". This is it, boys and girls. The "LinearB" is now approaching on an intercept course. All attack squadrons are to engage at the first opportunity. Weapons are free - I say again - weapons are free. The Fleet is manouvering towards our position at flank speed. Fire at will"

"Meady" and "Hawkeye" are on full alert, and ready. All Dnet batteries are to engage at first opportunity.

Good luck to you all.

This is Central Command. The battle has been won. Deep Space Station "Hawkeye" confirms that we have left the "LinearB" in our wake.

It is hoped that a stat-bot from the Dnet homeworld will confirm this within the next two hours.

There is much cause for celebration - all Commanders may stand down their attack squadrons on receipt of this broadcast.

Those that have volunteered to stand watches during the celebration party will be granted extra R&R in two days.

Well done, people. But remember, although this battle has been won, the war is far from over. Dnet battery Commanders report that the engines are recharging successfully, so the Fleet will continue onwards.

We continue to close slowly but certainly towards our goal. Vigilance and fortitude are our watchwords.

There will be no further transmissions for the next 24 hours, until a full assessment of the battle has been completed.

Onwards, and (ever) upwards, Ninja!

Central Command has decided that the MeadeFleet is now sufficiently far ahead of its nearest challenger, and as we are about to enter a sector of uncharted space.

As a result , effective immediately:

All MeadeShips are to rig for Silent Running.
No further communications until such time as Central Command is satisfied that the Fleet is secure

Central Command has just received confirmation that the MeadeFleet has completed its transition through the uncharted section of space. Communications are once again restored.

Deep Space Relay Station "Hawkeye" reports that the "LinearA" has been involved in a major battle - and has come through with a glorious victory, even though one of its Dnet engines was immobilised during the fight. Central Command wishes to congratulate the Commander of the "LinearA" for his sterling efforts.

One further note: the BattleStar "Independence" has been recalled to its homeworld, where a skirmish involving the Sengent has caused some collateral damage. Details are sketchy at present, but it is hoped that it will soon be able to resume the fight.

*Supplemental*

Central Command has just received more details regarding the skirmish with the Sengent. The "Independence" has reported that her sister-ship, the "Meadmaker", has been recalled from an away mission, and has dealt with the invader successfully. The "Independence" is returning to the Fleet at flank speed.

This is Central Command. Deep Space Relay Station "Hawkeye" has suddenly gone silent. BattleStars have been ordered to divert to his location as a matter of urgency, to insure that he has not been over-run by the Enemy.

Relay Station "Meady" is still functioning normally, and can supply fuel for Dnet engines if needed.

Further bulletins will be issued when fresh information becomes available.

Information has been received by Central Command that confirms earlier intelligence reports. Although the Deep Space Relay Station "Hawkeye" is incommunicado, the Commander is safe, and will be returning to the Station within the next 24 hours.

In the meantime, alternate-one "Meady" is running normally, and can still supply fuel for the Fleet's Dnet engines.
