Finally, some new blood pops up in the lower leagues! Welcome Karlo!

The Team total for today was 290.

In the GaseousMatter League, Karlo stomps OmegaOne+Jimbo and grabs the MAM. :D

In the SpaceDust, Asteroid, Comet, Mars, Jupiter, Stellar, RedGiant, SuperGiant, BlackHole and TheContinuum Leagues, not a blessed thing happened. ;)

>MAM< Karlo - GaseousMatter - 3 units
>MAM< CHIMAERA - Jupiter - 6 units - (16th day in a row)
>MAM< bicycleman7 - Stellar - 8 units
>MAM< Chelle - Stellar - 8 units - (2nd day in a row)
>MAM< Fat Dave - RedGiant - 19 units - (16th day in a row)
>MAM< Tgoshinski - SuperGiant - 7 units - (16th day in a row)
>MAM< NM_Arian - BlackHole - 48 units - (9th day in a row)
>MAM< DOCTOR WHO - TheContinuum - 105 units - (9th day in a row)

Legend - What do all these awards stand for?? POD - Producer Of the Day - highly subjective and at the whim of the commentator MAM - Most Active Member - most units produced in the league that day Phoenix - Awarded to a team member who has been long inactive and has returned to active duty StompMaster - Awarded to the member who stomps the most people on a single day (Saturday only, at present)

Thanks for the great report Talon

Welcome to Team Ninja Seti, dcwhitney :) We like to think we're active :D We're kind of a newly formed/restructured group... slowly working our way up the chart. Whatever we're doing we're having a good time :)

Pull up a chair and stay awhile

Welcome aboard DC, glad you found us! As Chelle said, we are newly reformed, and things are starting to pull together nicely. So, sit back, relax, and just have fun! :D

I'm looking for a fun interesting active team. I guess I'm trying to find out a little bit of history of the team without trying to be nosey or ruffle any feathers. I will say i've looked around on the forum's threads and liked it. What is the story on: "newly formed/restructured group" Thanks!

Team Picard used to reside here but have moved on to pastures new, so a new team was created with two rules

#1 Have Fun
#2 See rule #1

:D

Oh, and welcome to our humble abode

DC ... There was controversy ... and it is now gone. Both teams (TP and TN) are fine teams ... it just got to be like siblings that are too close to each other ... we needed to separate and remember why we like the heck out of each other. Right now .. well we (TN) are a bunch of hard core crunchers who participate in several arenas including Seti (currently about 190th .... but we'll be top 100 fairly soon), Dnet (our current Maths projects)(looking to be top 50 in RC5-72 and then figure out just how good we can really be, G@H (44th despite having only started 3 weeks ago), Distributed Folding (7th), F@H, Sengent, and TSC ... ooops I forgot Ubero as well.

Currently the membership is small, but very active and we are spread thin as we restart several teams. When our sister team Picard left, all the Teams under their banner left as well (which was everything save Distributed Folding and TSC). So for three weeks old (in most arenas) ... we are a really damn fine team.

Hope you pull up a chair and set a spell, take in the ambiance ... and have fun. Love to have you aboard.

/edit ... I forgot to mention ... we have one of the best stats masters, bar none, in Jema ... and some really cool sigs ... (courtesy of Rids, Chelle and any number of fine peeps)

First post here.

DC was kind of doing this on my behalf. Silly as it may sound we belong/belonged to the same team. Disenchanted I started looking elsewhere. I think DC has become more interested than he anticapated. (hope theres no points off for spelling)

We just feared getting into what I left. So far in a few short hours you have explined the evelution of the team, disptched our fears and responded favorably and promptly.

I personally like the elections of Mods, No dictatorship. My way or the highway. Yea.. Thats what this is all about. Just out of couriosity, what happens if someone breaks rule #1 and doesnt have fun.

I have been following the thread since he started it, and if you don't mind I'd like to pull up a chair next to him and continue to be amazed.

Thanks for the space

Welcome to you too, Brian

10:13 summed it up well  Team Picard has been an integral part of NinjaMicros for a long time, so only natural when they departed there were a few waves. Things have settled, and for the most part, everyone just wants to crunch and have fun. Some members left with them, others stayed here, and some crunch for both teams and that's just dandy. DF and TSC were already established under Team Ninja, but all the other projects started fresh under the Team Ninja banner, and we're having fun working our way back up. We have some hard core crunchers among us and we're making tracks fast :beep:

When someone breaks rule #1 we send them to the humor forum for awhile :D

:sunshine: I'm normally the biggest offender for taking a thread off topic... and the family here, knows that when we have a thought, its best to get it down, before we loose it... oh we try to use the other forums, I'm making progress... but threads will wander all over the galaxy and back... rather relaxing not being scolded. You expect to get spanked, but all you get is help and understanding....

It's best said in the theme of the Golden Rule... we get along, because we are cool... and we're from all over the place; I'm from Cincinnati, as you can see in the side bar.... been here going on a year this May... these chaps are worth my money and my time; I think they are fine... and yeah, I just hate it when I typo myself to death

But the camaraderie is bar none, which is the basis of the fun....

I'm confused here ... what is this "off-topic" concept ... maybe I'm just being dense tonight (this morning actually) but it's just not coming clear to me ...

no offense taken. This question does deserve a serious answer. You've seen both rules. So far peeps around here have failed miserably at being too serious and running afoul of the rules. Beyond that, there's there are the Forum Rules of Use (http://www.ninjamicros.com/disclaimer.html#rules) which are mainly directed at common decency toward each other and not breaking the law. These latter are enforced by the Moderators, Super-Mods, and Admins and by and large this is done with a light hand. PM's are the normal first course of actions, typically asking a person to reconsider what ever it was that has appeared offensive in some way (to people or rules) and asking them to voluntarily amend their post. This typically is the end of any action because most things of this nature are based on misunderstandings by one or another person and are almost never intentional.

As to Moderators ... for the Team forums, Mods are chosen by the membership and can be removed by the same process (which is rather informal at present). Outside of the Team forums, Mods are chosen by the ownership, as are Super-Mods and Admins. Within the team forums, SMs and Admins prefer to let Mods handle any issues if at all possible and generally will step in only when a Mod is unavailable.

Of course this is just a general outline ... but it covers most of the situations.

About the only thing that might be out of the ordinary from some forums is the fact that there are minors that are members of the teams (my daughter for one) and the forums ... so we always try to remember that what we say may be viewed by someone underage ... in short, a bit more family-oriented in tone than some other boards.

Hope this helps,
10

OK!! The wet noodle lashing was pleasant, thank you, I prefer Spinage noodles. Heh.

10:13-- Thanks for explaining that so well. Seems very fair.

Dr Who-- Excellent!! Big Tom Baker fan myself. I get a big feeling of camaraderie here. This is good cuz you gonna hate me ;)

I love the Stats page, so much info you almost can't stop playing with it.

Another question, I know I know.. when am I gonna stop? This team is loosely based on TNG...?? Why Team Ninja?? Is there an episode I missed??

Wow I just noticed the spell check. HOW COOL!!

Thanks for all the info, You've all been great

Anytime it starts to get boring, Jema tweaks it again ... the man is amazing ...

Well I'll give you my own take on this ... the next person might very well have a different take. The "Ninja" part comes from the forum, NinjaMicros ... The "TNG" ... well many of us are SciFi fans (there's even a forum just for SciFi) ... we borrowed the phrase to signify a couple of things ... that we were moving on (and indeed the Picard origins ... obviously trekkish) and even more that we are really pointed toward SetiII (BOINC) ... the next generation of Seti. The TNG is only for the seti team ... The Dnet team goes under the moniker of The Counts of Crunch (which really tickles me for some odd reason ... ) ... other projects run under just the name of "Team Ninja"

belated welcomes to you two peeps :)

just to repeat what has already been said....and to raise my post count obviously (well duuuhhh).

'Fred Drift' (TM) is way of life around here, most members have a good feel for when *not* too...apparently, though ive not yet experienced this rare phenomenon in my years here.

Team Picard was hosted at NinjaMicros for a LONG time...and very recently Team Ninja (who were in some part Picardians crunching less popular projects). Half of Picard chose to move house, which did stretch the membership loyalties somewhat..some of us decided to remain, kiss goodbye to old work and start afresh under a Team Ninja banner :D...some of us still travel across to chat with our old amigos regardless of DC team ...and some others actually crunch for both (and even more) teams. There has always been a sense of family here...rich with in-bred virginians, sex mad welshmen, short canadians, many black sheep (but non virginal), romantic tangles, and teenagers claiming life aint fair :D

The general Trek theme helps us ex/old-picardian types remember our roots and comforts us on long dark nights :D

With my stats, I'm # 420 in the top 1,000 on the planet that crunch only at home; and # 987 [currently] out of the top 1,000 on the planet WHO crunch anywhere... so if you are near me, you too [U2] are in the top 1,000 of the planet, out of the all the

4,281,575.0 [million] SETi crunchers on this rock, m8's....

Like I'm ahead of 99.977% of all SETi Crunchers anywhere...

go check out your own numbers, you'll be amazed.... I was aiming at just breaking the top 1,000 world wide... I did, last month... then thanks to Crystallize, I bumpoed into the top 1,000 at home crunchers and found myself at the 420 level = amazing.

Have fun, I'm gonna bring both of my P2-400's on line just to catch 10:13 :D
