I think MBJ was just clearing up the confusion for ivessy. No AFAIK nobody has to be a TP member to use 888's Server, (And MBJ never said you did either)

He was just clearing up ivessy's first post where he mentioned it was a server that was run by a Team Ninja member.

Nobody made any claims, but nobody cleared it up for him.

(Don't take this as an angry post or decietful or what haveyou please as it's not meant that way. It's meant as a post to try and clear up things a bit)

just to clear up so there is no misunderstanding/confusion with what has been said on this thread

funny thing there was no confusion with Ivessy till MBJ showed up even stranger still is Ivessy has not registered with TP yet after showing such interest :confused:

regarding using the server it looks like from what was said/intemated if you use the server and want to be part of a team then you should join TP - in other words not the person who uses the server's choice but TP choice

I hope these quick smarty visits clearing up so called confusions are going to cease soon

hope this clears the situation

Ivessy if you want to join with TEAM NINJA you are more than welcome as has been said by several members already

I have the 18 year old plus [stuff] call Glenlevits [??] I can't remeber how it is spelled, seems to me it was imported to the States from somewhere... cost about $55 a fifth [26 shots]... if you like... what is it, creme de mint... (?) no I think it's like tape... oh yeah: Scotch, tape.... :D

We've got plenty of Crystal [Stolies] to go around as well... shame I can't drink, I make a mean margerate-go-rita...:rolleyes: :p :D

Love those rules

Rule #1 have fun
Rule # 2 see rule # 1

That said I just think that MBJ was commenting to ivessy's post where they said they where using your server and could they join your team.
He said that its 888's server and he is on Picard and left a link and said feel free to visit. I didnt see it as pimping myself. ivessy is having fun with, as you say, members of both teams on the server and which ever team if any he joins great. The main thing is to keep playing :sunshine:

This is farcical, the original post didn't even mention Team Picard so can everybody stop this nonsense please? Are we going to get jumped on every time the most tenuous reference is made to Team Picard or one of it's members or can we all just get on with our own business? If anybody comes here asking about the whereabouts of Team Picard they will be politely pointed in the right direction. We did offer links to team Picard but the offer was not accepted so there is nothing further that we can do. Can we please leave it there now?

Whoah Rids. Calm down. I don't know how you read "your server" in that case. Maybe the word "your" has a different meaning to you than it does to me.

It was just clearing confusion. I'm sure he is welcome here at TN and he is at the same time welcome at TP. Where't the issue? There is none. I can only speak for the TP servers now and everybody are free to use them when they feel like it. No membership is implied or required. Noone has ever claimed that. Mentioning who runs the servers isn't bad so stop posting as if it is.

I am not so much concerned about the ownership of the server being pointed out to him as I am the way that TP members have flocked here to "put the facts straight" - how many does it take? I have to ask myself if there would have been any replies if he had not said he was joining Team Ninja. ;)

Ok Rids. Let's say you're right then I appologize. Now, if we would see that TN itself writes "Great you like the server! It's not really ours but Team Picard's and they let us use it! Welcome to the team!" Then the issue would have been totally moot.

I totally agree Stefan, in retrospect that would have been the perfect reply and would have avoided any niggles. :thumbsup:
As you say, the server is not in fact ours but belongs to 888, a member of Team Picard and he is gracious enough to allow us and many other people it's use and for that we are extremely grateful. :)

I have to admit I had no idea what the ut2003 server was, but I don't think any of us would knowingly imply ownership of something that didn't belong to us.

I feel badly that a new member came in here to introduce himself and got a 2 page thread of politics as a reception.

I hope we didn't turn him off both teams.

ivessey -- first off ... thanks for dropping by the board :D!

Second ... thanks for crunching seti (I hope you still will, or any of the other very worthy projects that exist) ... whether it be for Ninja, Picard, or any other of the many very worthy teams out there.

Third ... I am very sorry that what should have been a welcome thread ... turned into the dying echoes of a family squabble. As you have seen there was both an unfortunate argument between family members and feelings that are still touchy ... your welcome thread should never have been the place for such things ... I apologize profusely for members of both teams ... please don't let it affect your decision to crunch for the worthy purpose of SETI ... no matter where you do that.

I'd like to add my support to 10:13s comments ... it is somewhat disgraceful that we show off the old dirty washing in this WELCOME thread :(

I hope you enjoy the world of DC Ivessy, irrespective of chosen team - there are many fine members of Ninja and Picard - and though we have split into the two aforementioned teams many members of both remain very good friends, the environment on this board these many years has always encouraged that - ok the 'family' dynamic can lead to disagreements and fallouts but we all know who we can rely upon when our 'virtual' or Real Life hits troubled times :)
