I'm not sure if everyone is happy with this colour scheme or not, but I thought I'd offer one more I did HERE (http://139.81.132.248/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=48) (minus the logo) I made it for the Seti forum but they're not going to use it, and DF is happy with theirs, so it's available.

If not, I'll tuck it away for future projects.

I have tried to live with the purple but it does not cut the mustard with me, I feel the blue is much more appropriate for my tastes.

Maybe just swap them over so as to not lose any of your efforts :)

All I know is I sure like that blue starship logo at the top of that forum!

Okay, just realized this. The SETI forum scheme rocks. It's not the colors either, but the scheme. For example, in this color purple scheme, everything seems to blend a bit too well. There isn't enough color variation between posts, vs. in other forums where it's clear color-wise where one post ends and one begins. I like the test forum a bit more, but it still blends together just a bit much. I have to say I really like how the SETI forum has clear differentiations between areas, especially with the 3rd color, orange, mixed in.

So, I have realized that it's not that I don't like the purple necessarilly, but I think everything is a bit too well-blended. :)

 I like the SETI forum also but would perhaps like to see the orange toned down to brown... just my opinion

One things certain tho' you're in a difficult position not being able to appease everyone :D

So more contrast then, we can do that :) (Im from the art school of 'subtle blendedness') The Seti forum scared the crap out of me at first, but you're right, it's very distinctive. Looking now I think this one would look awesome with an alternating table colour of near-black... let me play a bit more :D

Yup, looks much better with the darker purple. Maybe a third color for the bars? (i.e. where it says "all times are GMT etc. at top N bottom, etc.?)

p.s. don't mind me I'm just procrastinating a bit. :D

What about darkening the rear background colour, to get more of a contrast with the header logo etc.

I like the two colour contrast of the reply panes tho'

Okay black I thought was a little too harsh, but the deep navy seems to work better with the overall hue. Im not sure what colour (besides white) we could incorporate without looking garish, but let me try something with the bars....

Just as I suspected. I see the Crayola 128-color set of my youth wasn't wasted on me after all!

The more this colour scheme is adjusted the more it edges toward the blue one in the test forum... ;) which I like very much... (hint, hint) ;)

Chromed / silver thread headers would look good with either as well :)
