I recieved a heatsink for a P4 423 1.3Ghz today. Been on order for over two weeks and it was in stock :(
Currently loading WinXP on it and having a play with the settings. Its got PC800 RImms and i havnt played with anything like this before, :D
Still its got to be worth another 4 Wu's a day hopefully more.

Well, i got it up to 1580 and it bashed out 6 units yesterday. Although 3 of them were 11+ AR :eek:
Should settle on 5 a day i think. Strange thing is the chip does go to 1700 but i think the mobo clicks in a different divider because when i benched at 1700 the memory bandwidth was slightly lower and i lost 1000 3dmarks too.

Yeah im begining to like pentiums again. I have a bigger brother of that 1.3 Northwood 2Ghz. I have that running at 2.8Ghz now
I havnt achieved the same percentage overclock on an AMD since the early socket A days.
Im getting tempted to try a thoroughbred though . I have read some good reports of high OC on those. Hmm my gateway box is a little slow these days it only knocks out 3 WU's a day i may just have to upgrade the thing.

I guess the really hot machines must be under 3hours a WU on the 10 a day level lately ?

Yeah it seems that way, the P4 2.8 does 9 a day. I havnt got an AMD the same speed yet to compare it to though. THe nearest machine to to it an AMD flavour i have is a XP1700 @ XP2000 and that one knocks out between 7 & 8 a day.
Mainly 8 unless the daughter reclaims the box and plays a few games on it.

Arian - 2Ghz at 2.8 excellent work !! I'm such a wuss with overclocking these days, I just can't be done with the none stop tweaking, but respects to those with the dedication :)

Lol i have days where i cant be bothered too. Usually after a little tweaking has resullted in a corrupt OS.
I just like to get every once i can from these machines of mine

Fun you should mention corrupt OS's I trashed 2 win2k installs in 1 day just going for that extra 0.00001 Mhz LOL and since then it hasn't quite had the same fun factor :)

Lol, know the feeling. Ive also trashed two older type hardrives this last 2 weeks of adding systems to the fleet. The older ones just dont seem to hack the higher FSB settings. I just hate that little popping sound as you fire up a system. Once heard its unmistakeable :nooo:
