Team Ninja is go !! - see HERE (http://stats.distributed.net/team/tmsummary.php?project_id=8&team=940186343) for team info and click "I want to join this team!" you know it makes sense.
I'll update this with more info soon and turn this into an FAQ (very rough and ready at the minute but I'll get there!)
Further information on the RSA Secret Key Challenge can be found here (http://www.rsasecurity.com/rsalabs/challenges/secretkey/index.html)
The client software can be downloaded from here (http://www.distributed.net/download/clients.html)

Will most definitely have to realign the Armada somewhat and get on board ;)

Um,
done..... but I won't be a major cruncher here, partly cos DNet seems to enjoy losing my WU's...... :(
369 uploaded yesterday, well before midnight, but only 61 registered at the stats roll over. Last time I ran RC-5 I got so pissed off with their lousy stats and them losing work, that I moved on to Genome..... :fuming:

Sorry to hear it m8 :( - the Dnet client is my favourite and touch wood, I've never lost a WU yet

Yes,
the WUs do usually turn up eventually - but where are the stats?! I mean updating once a day is just rubbish, even SETI manages more than that.... and DF updates within 15 minutes.
I won't deny that the DNet client is nice, and the upload/download is fantastically quick. But the support structure for the project seems to be a little poor, and 1/2 the clients won't even run RC5-72 yet (darn, and my little 386 on MS DOS hasn't finished its first RC5-64 WU yet..... ).

I lost a lot of faith after crunching for months, only to have all my stats scrapped coz theyd found the key months before I even started.....
kinda shat me a little bit......
still......you never know...

Silly me I clicked on the join team before downloading the client. Now as it did not recognize my email address I just keep getting an error. Is there a config file that I can manually add the team number - I don't want my units to go anywhere other than TN.
Ok, I went to the download page and downloaded the client how do I now join the team - I have not sent anything back yet.
How long does it take before sending results back? (1.4GHz AMD)
Never done a maths project before :newbie:
EDIT:
Found many an answer in the Team Picard - Maths forum here (http://139.81.132.248/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6570)

Step 1 is download the client and install into a fresh directory (or just delete the dnetc.ini file. When you next run the client it'll tell you you need to specify an email address.
Once specified you can start crunching, at startup you should see your email displayed see here:-
dnetc v2.9001-477-GTR-02111118 for Win32 (WindowsNT 5.0).
Please provide the *entire* version descriptor when submitting bug reports.
The distributed.net bug report pages are at http://www.distributed.net/bugs/
Using email address (distributed.net ID) 'jon.walker@***.co.uk'
You'll then need to crunch at least one unit and upload it to dnet.
You then have to wait 24 hours, (usually around about 12:50 AM GMT)
You should then be able to search for your account by specifying your email address. Once you've found your account you should see an email me my password button. Click on it and you should then receive your password. You can then goto the Team Page, click on the Join Team button and away you go. (You won't appear on the Team until the next day.

Did you go to the site and search for your email address? It took 24 hours for mine to show up, then at the bottom of the screen asks to email the password. It came immediately after that.

Thanks Stargazer I have now been added to the RC5-72 team :)

I have now joined the OGR team as well here (http://stats.distributed.net/team/tmsummary.php?project_id=25&team=940186343)
