How dare it snow the night before the fell gathering! :fuming:

You lot obviously haven't been thinking warm and sunny thoughts hard enough, so much so that I might not even be able to get out of Lancaster tommorow...... grrr.

Feel free to punish yourselves (bad Dobby, baaaad!) suitably..... :whip:

Cruel Fallguy hurts us. Master tricks us.

..Of course he did. I told you he was tricksy. I told you he was false.

..Master is our friend... our friend.

..Master betrayed us.

..No, not it’s business. Leave us alone!

@ ^7 this is Britain we don't do snow very well :p see the news (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2711977.stm)

Might not amount to much, although I've not seen a gritter yet :D and it's suppose to warm up tomorrow

OMG ........ There's like 1/5" of an inch on the ground ..... For us over here we get more than that on our shoes in the winter.

And it's stopped now, looks like I can put the snow shoes away :D

And your snowmobiles :D

Hmmm,
the problem is this - none of the lazy gritters bothered to grit the roads today, despite having well over 48 hours warning of this snow. Hence the roads are all snow bound, and the temperatures have just dropped below freezing.

Tommorow morning I will be attempting to drive my renta Corsa (wooohoo) on what passes very easily for an ice rink. Which should prove fun.

The reason I am tentative to drive is that the Corsa is frankly a death trap - should I spin on the motorway at 70 (cough) miles an hour the chances are they will be scraping me out the remains with a spoon. Whilst I look forward to meeting ya'll alot, I will have to consider the state of the roads pretty damn seriously before setting off. Particularly the M62 and/or A50.

Yes ^7, but you expect to have snow

We had around about 6" here in Cambridge, but with the strong winds it has drifted over 4 ft deep in places. Haven't seen it like this for over ten years. My daughter made her second ever snowman yesterday.

This area grid-locked totally last night, one of my colleagues didn't make it home (ten mile journey) - after four hours he gave up and cadged floor space from some friends, came back to work today in yesterday's clothes.

Fortunately (?) for me I live within walking distance of work - got very wet and very cold last night, so trudged in today in me big wellies, silly gloves and furry hat :)

Melted a little this afternoon, but cold again tonight. Some spectacular icicles around.

Not snowing again yet, but very heavy skies...

Ni! :gunsling:

Leave? They wouldn't have left the hotel if they'd seen the snow!

@Termie: You won't see tooooo much snow in October unless you are here on Haloween, in which case you might only see a couple of inches at most if any. Come around ....... say early to Mid January. THEN you'll see snow.

Maybe I should have gone the extra £350,
and hired one of those monster 4x4 5 seater pickups you get in America.......

They had one of those in the garage, a massive beast with more than 3 foot of ground clearance, and genuine off road capability. Who needs motorways (other than for the service stations, cos the 5 litre V8 engine would suck rather alot of fuel) when you can travel across fields, up hills, through plate steel doors and concrete walls..... :D

Um,
unless you have changed your number since last time, I still have you mobile, scribbled onto a piece of paper right next to Dougs..... I was planning on setting off at around 9 ish, so I could go training in Loughborough first, but that might change dependant on conditions here.

Damnit, I don't want to miss my monthly training session - its hard enough remembering all my ninja stuff as it is, let alone trying not be insulted when my friends start humming "Kung-Fu fighting"..... ;)
