That convicted Hacker Kevin Mitnick is allowed unrestricted access to computers as well as the internet. After serving 5 years in jail and under huge restrictions after getting out of jail he is now finally allowed to do as he pleases.
I for one have had this day marked on my calendar for ages now.
Congratulations Kevin Mitnick!

Mitnick was imprisoned for nearly five years on charges that were never fully explained and which many believe were highly exaggerated. More details can be found at the Free Kevin website (http://www.freekevin.com/) and in the documentary"Freedom Downtime." (http://www.freedomdowntime.com/) (Additional footage is being gathered the DVD release later this year.)
Mitnick will be appearing live with friends as he starts to explore the net. He'll also be making an appearance on this week's edition of "Off The Hook." (http://www.2600.com/offthehook)

Sorry, nbeing a web nerd for many years I forget that not many people know about some of the "older" stuff or the hacking scene.
You can also check out Kevins personal website as updated/run by his significant other at www.kevinmitnick.com
I've personally followed the case myself as much as I could since he was last on the run.
I'm one of the people who believes that the charges were HIGHLY exaggerated by companies (especially Sun). Hell I've even got my Free Kevin Stickers here.
There was a book written by one of the people who helped capture him after his long run on the loose. It's called Takedown and the official website is www.takedown.com
Next time I should better explain myself or everyone is gonna think I'm REALLY weird!

I checked out those links you provided and the details are sketchy at best. Lots of links that would tell me more if i paid a fee :( So i searched on google and was able to find out that he admitted breaking into others computers. (which is illegal) Sounds like the most damage he did, was to the companies systems engineers, egos tho. Thanx for the story eh :)

That's the thing. He wasn't (At least in my opinion and many others as well) the type of hacker that went around destroying things on someone's network just for the helluvit. He was the curious type. I'll find some more links for you about the trials as he was detained for a loooonnnnnggg time w/o a trial and (again in my opinion and that of many others) forced to plead guilty in order to finally get things over with in a manner of speaking.
