Hey gang
Trying to update the firmware on my Linksys router. It goes to install and it stop with a message that says "Failed to update data into Flash ROM". All firewalls are off. I need to update the router firmware because it boots you when more than 2 PC's are on the net at the same time. I have the same router at work. Updated the firmware there with no problem. I was having the same problem getting booted. It worked great after I updated the firmware. Any Suggestions?

I had the same problem too. I had extended warranty on mine, so I found the receipt and took it back. I exchanged it for a new Linksys wireless router. They didnt even notice they were different! If you ever go wireless make sure you use a PCI wireless card because the USB ones causes timeouts in games on the net.

Unfortunately, if the ROM fails to update, there isn't much you can do about it. Double check to make sure that you have a Firmware you downloaded is the correct one for that router, and also that your router supports "flashing". Even though the one at work did, you may have an earlier release/version of that router at home that does not allow flashing. If it's still under warranty, you should take it back, or contact Linksys and see what they say about it.
