A director nomination for Sam Mendes in Road To Perdition is just one of four nominations the comic-based feature garnered from the London Film Critics Circle according to today's Variety. The movie All or Nothing was the only film garnering more nominations with a total of five.
The movie itself topped the "Film of the Year" listing. Other nominees are Lantana, About Schmidt, Donnie Darko and Bowling for Columbine.
David Self also got a nod in the "Screenwriter" category. His gangster script is up against Nia Vardalos' screenplay for My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Andrew Bovell's work on Lantana.
In the "British Actor in a Supporting Role" category, Jude Law gets a nomination character for his portrayal of a rival assassin in Road. His competition is Kenneth Branagh for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Paul Bettany for A Beautiful Mind.
