Great Flick!

Plot was well done as well as the Special FX. I really enjoyed watching this movie. Was almost 2 hours long. Happy and Sad, Fast paced and surprising.

Read at your own expense the below.

Here's the low down.
Yes there is a marriage. I don't need to say who it is now do I?

It's amazing how easily that this one crew can cause so much damage to each ship they get though. They almost total the E in a "Fender Bender". Also interesting to see that Will isn't afraid of Command anymore like was suggested by different characters in the series. I'm also sure everyong knows what a Betazoid wedding entails...  :jawdrop:

The ending is very sad though. One of the main characters is killed and there is no chance of that person (I almost said him or her  ) ever coming back to life either as they are totally killed in an explosion of a ship. It is interesting to see though that in the previews that Data's Duplicate is not actually Lore! Data Finally gets a promotion (How long has the poor guy been waiting for now for it? There is quite a bit of humour in it but not too much that it cramps the Trek style. I definatley think myself that this will be the last TNG movie :(

BTW .... Admiral Janeway says Hi! :D

Well I just saw it today, and I must say it was a great movie :) Although I would like to mention one point that ^7_of_9 made, the main character who "died", in a way didn't so :P So there is a chance that the character could come back in another form :P ie Remember Spock? :P(I could turn out like that in the future, ....sorta)

One last thing, almost everything wraps up, each person goes their own way except for Geordi and technically Picard, at the end :(

oh I forgot to mention :P Admiral Janeway should be shot :P That would have made the plot more exciting, as I believe she is the worst actor compared to any star trek episodes, maybe even worse than the expendable lieutenants in TOS :P

UK release from what I've heard is Mid-January.

BTW Evolution,

I don't think that person is ripe for a comeback as remember there was the problem of not being.... ummmm... "advanced" enough.

I know that. But, I'll give you a hint :P

Hint #1)Blue Skies
Hint #2)An Admiral was requiring something of this character in the last movie. And this in turn could lead to the character's return.

Nope, that went right over my head - more hints required due to screwed up brain

grrr..... since all of data's memories were transfered into B4, logically they could take it out again....not to mention with his memories he lives on

Now from the past episodes of star trek: TNG and from a few star trek movies, starfleet has always constantly been asking for data's schematics.

Finally, do you remember the episode, where a trial takes place to judge whether data is centiant or not? Well the scientist who wanted to disassemble data is continuing his work. So perhaps the scientist could have success from his schematics and scans, and recreate the exact same model as data. Then the programming of an android gets tricky, so perhaps he might take a shortcut by transfering B4's memories(or data's) into the android, created by the scientist, and therefore bring data back to life.

Remember what Data said in nemesis, what defines a person's life? Their environment(memories) and their genetic structure? Well if the scientist successful created the "genetic structure", and B4 has Data's memories, then Data could once again exist :)

Ok, if you don't understand that, it's going to take a page ;P

OMG! What a load of carp! I just saw this movie and I must say, if it didn't have the Star Trek sticker on the side it would never have gotten out of the bargain bin. Plot was worse than 2-dimensional. The characters were never given a chance to develop (I know they are already "developed," but really this is what ST is supposed to be all about, constant growth etc.) There was no "meaning" to the film, no reason to care at all about the characters... I mean, except for the special effects it wasn't any better than any TNG episode and was actually worse than about half of them.

Ok, if you don't think so? Describe the plot to me in a linear way that makes me give a rip about what's going on... because the writers sure as heck couldn't. I've been looking forward to future ST films, but not if this is the direction they are headed.

I give this film 1.5 out of 4 stars, and two thumbs down! :/ I will try to forget about it so it doesn't mar my memories of previous ST exploits...

Whats this doing in the Off Topic forum!

For shame, the Sci-Fi forum or the Media thangy forum would be much more appropriate - I could actually have missed this thread if I hadn't made one of my very infrequent visits here! :(

Not that I really give a monkeys about Star Trek, but hey, its the principle of the thang! ;)

I thought the film was entertaining. It had some action, a fairly simple story and the ubiquitous crash scene at the end. All in all standard ST formula.

Agreed, it's nothing spectactularly new, and the baddy's creaking patent leather suit is an interesting choice, but what do you expect. The format is a little tired, but I don't think there will be too many more TNG films - other series could be explored.
