View Full Version : POLL: Who Should Direct Episode 3?

Episode III to Start with a Bang
The keys to the last prequel's success or failure lie in the script Lucas is writing right now.
People have hyped Attack of the Clones as the Empire Strikes Back of the prequels – a darker chapter that resolves little but connects the first adventure with the grand finale, providing character development along the way. But that title might more rightly belong to Episode III, the prequel that will really end on a dark note.
TheForce.net reports that Star Wars creator George Lucas spoke briefly with the Hollywood tabloid show Entertainment Tonight about Episode III. He stated that the first part of the film would see the Clone Wars coming to an end, and that the rest of the movie would be "very small and personal" – much like The Empire Strikes Back was, in fact. The personal bits will no doubt deal with the Anakin's marriage, his conflicts with Obi-Wan, and his descent to the Dark Side.
So who do you think should direct this film?

I think they should get the bloke who direct TESB,
unless he's dead? Irwin Kirshner I believe.....

Are you telling me that I went throught two episodes of kids stuff,.. and I still won't get to see SkyWalker redering the Jedi Extinct? We won't get to see how hw ends up in the Darth Vader outfit with half his body gone? Thats the grad Climax! thats what all Six movies are essentially leading up to! The hell with the clone wars and luke and lea. Al we want is the "Origin of Darth Vader",... right? RIGHT?! Isn't that what its all about?

It was either James Cameron who also did Titanic (No sleeping comments please CDS :D ) or Peter Jackson. Guess which one I chose?
It's a Fantasy/Sci-Fi flick. Either one of those people would be a good choice but sinc eI had only one choice to make I took Peter Jackson :)

If its going to be dark,
how about Alex Proyas??? I am kinda partial to his films.... and storylines (well more partial to them than most Lucas's recent work, and thats a fact!).

Or maybe we could have a spooky one,
directed by M. Night Shyalamin? That would be kind of cool, being inside Anakin Skywalkers head as he turns to the dark side.... ;)

Or even better,
showing the story from Padme's view, as Anakin slowly turns into the dark helmetted one.... thats got to be scary! :D

With some of those choice someone should have added Rick Berman or Denise Okuda!
I think Rick Berman would have made a good producer as he's already directed Sci-Fi before.

Rick Berman? Isn't he the guy who directs Yawn Trek?
Thanks but no thanks!
Unless of course you want episode 3 to be as boring and pants as "Enterprise".....

:badge: Rick Berman is the Porducer who, basically , has no talent
I cant wait till somebody else gets to run the star trek franchise, The current peole incharge have no originality to them at all(IMHO) This whole "enterprise" tv show has me totally up set.
They tried to jump on the star wars bandwagon by doing a Prequal instead of trying something newIf the next Star Trek movies is good, I will have a better view of Berman but if it's not i am done with star trek
:jedi:
At least with star wars we knew there was this Prequal story way before it ever came out. This is something that was not just thrown in for profit, It just took way to smegging long to come out.
Now if georg lucas would let speiberg direct, or anbody besides him for that matter, it would be better

Its not only George Lucas's direction that is dire,
but his scripts as well.
Possibly he should write the story plan, and then get someone else to script write it.
Just not Berman, please......!

You want to know someone who would actually be good to write a script? D.C. Fontana.

Yeah, that's the one. Yeah, it would be sweet! Remember when Obi-Wan says, "Darth Vader betrayed and murdered your father?" Well, they could have a scene like in Fight Club where Anakin splits in two and his good half fights his evil half, and that's how he ends up in "the suit." (As long as it's not too Superman III-ish  )

Well it looks like so far we have a three way tie between
Steven Spielberg (A.I.)
Peter Jackson (LOTR)
Ridley Scott (Blade Runner)
