After a long period of touble free usage, my comp just went insane.

My setup in short is XP1700, MSI Nforce 420 (revision 1), 2 x 256 mb Corsair PC2400

Just recently my comp started to just reset randomely. But everything would come back up alright...

Then, about two days ago, it would restart.. and when it would start to boot back up (screen still blank) I would hear the normal 'start-up beep' but then it would be followed by more beeps (some tiems a high pitched one, sometiems a low pitched on, and somtimes one that repeated that was about the same tone as the 'start up' one). So then I would have to go and clear the cmos, and it would start up, and I'd go set it to the same settign si had before (mainly upping the fsb to 133)

Evrything would be fine... but then this would repeat 12 hours later. But just now, it did it again, and I cleared the cmos... but it didnt help, no my comp just wont go on!

:(

Anyway, I need some serious help,

thanks,

blitz

Make sure everything seated right, Vid card, mem etc...

when the bios whines like that it means theres some hardware problem.

well, I've discovered it was one of my ram modules.

Tey, of course, have a lifetime warranty.. but I dont think I have a receipt from where I bought it from.... would I still be able to get it replaced? 9possibly by the manufacturer... Corsair)

If it is Corsair, I think you should have no problem at all with the manufacturer replacing it. This is premium stuff, for wich you had to pay a premium. I believe they will stand by there product.
