Hi Guys/Gals.

I've been looking into my own ICE, and have been thinking (dangerous, I know)

If I get an inverter (for mains power) and a embedded PC (I've seen a half size AT board, onboard graphics/sound/chip for £95) and wire that up to my head unit, I'll have a PC, outputting to the aux channel.

I can then play MP3's whatever in car....

However, a touch screen 5.4" LCD is £150, so hooking that up to it means I have a fully working in car PC. add a GPS and mappoint, and I have Sat Nav :)

so -
£95 -PC
£100 -inverter
£0 -spare CD drive and HD
£150 -LCD
£100 -GPS
=£450 for in car mp3, sat nav, will play DivX's (mainly for the flash factor :) and CD's (so I can keep a tape head unit)

What's your thoughts, or am I dreaming?

G*

There's a couple of links of people that have done it.
One uses Linux and the other uses Windows.

ohhhhhhhhhhhh,

where?!?!?!?!

the only other option i was thinking was a PC Chips m841LMR (on board sounds, video and lan.)

pair that with something like an XP1600+ clocked down a bit (save heat and power)

wire the board up to a mobile phone for a bit of web surfing on the move and a screen from an old laptop should have all sorts of fun

toodles :xsofa:
