View Full Version : Dual Monitor Wallpaper

O-kay, this is definately NOT at the top of anyones NEED TO HAVE list. But.........

Using a Nvidida Geforce4 with N-view Dual monitor set-up,..

Is there a way to make a single picture the width of both monitors resolution work as wallpaper that spans Both monitors???

(say 2560 X 1024 for two 1280 X1024 monitors)

I've tried evrything in display properties, and N-View, but can not find a setting for this. If I set a 2560X1024 picture to wallpaper, it just centers the pic twice, one for each of the monitors.
The other way I could get away with it would be if I could set two different pics as wallpaper for the two different monitors.

Either solution would be great.

Any Ideas???

I would say to use a space background a 1280x1024 and let windows strech it.
Besides that i dont know.
What os are you running?

WinXP, and it won't stretch across two monitors.... It just repeats whats on the first monitor. Tiled side by side. I've never seen it done, so maybe it can't be done,.. in Windows anyway. I think be could do it.

Grab one of the images http://www.photocase.de/Default.asp you may download 5 images in one session.

There are nice big photo's of circuit boards (technology section) there (ie. 2560x1920). :D :D :D I use one scaled it down to 1600x1200 and it appears twice on my monitors.

Example (http://webace.com.au/~dnar/images/linux/dual_head_3200x1200_3.jpg)

Yeah, I saw you're desktop in another post dnar. Very nice.

The reason I am looking to have it be one image though, is I allready have a Pic I rendered in Bryce. 2560 X 1024. I wanted that one pic to span both monitors.

Ah, sorry, I interpreted your problem to be one of not having an image in that resolution. Sorry.

Under Gnome (Linux) I have the same issue, that my wallpaper is simply duplicated ont he 2nd monitor.
