I've used KaZaA Gypseyman ;)

It's very similar to Morpheus, Grokster et al, but it received some bad press for intrusive pop-ups and installin' dodgy files etc.

A newer, 'tweaked' version called 'Diet Kaza' is available tho', but due to possible copyright infringements, if ya want t' know where t' get hold of it, ye'll have t' PM me m8

Please note ninjamicros can not condone the use of P2P programs such as Kazaa in the cases where the downloader doesn't own the original media, therefore making said download illegal.

Please be carefull in descusing this topic.

I've used loads of P2P stuff and Kazaa is one of the nicer one's to use.

There are a few annoying popups - but I wasn't aware there was spyware on it :(

If you read the user reviews for Kazaa, the alarm bells should be ringing...

I use http://gtk-gnutella.sourceforge.net/ but of course I NEVER download anything illegal or pirated.

kazaalite is a spyware free version.

Please do not post links to hacked versions of any program, i.e. Kazaa Lite, Diet Kazaa etc etc.

Thanks,

I use Kazaa extensively...its just so much easier than most of the other p2p i have installed!

The network is massive but the software can be occasionally flakey. As for the spyware, obviously dont install any of the listed 'add-ons'..and, well Ad-aware can remove the Cydoor proggie, and as long as you replace a certain dll in your system folder it will continue to operate smoothly ;)

Had a play with the "other versions" last night. lite seems to be the orginal, just without the adware, whereas diet has some odd shell wrapped round the proper program, which prevents the "addons" working.

I've sort of hear of spyware, but wasn't aware it was so prevalent in this sort of stuff... Always learning, I guess :)
