Looking through the patent, it seems it would apply to mpeg more than jpeg :confused: It also in patent terms seems fairly valid :( this whole area of patents presents a chronic problem to the industry. I doubt very much if anyone developing jpeg/mpeg ever heard of this patent gathering dust in a patent office somewhere....
