8 seconds on a quarter mile? Um... as an average speed it is something just under 120 mph! Considering you'd have to get up to speed from standing still, that implies an ending quarter mile speed of perhaps 200 mph

Just remembered this web page posted a while back http://www.syclone.freeserve.co.uk/rivals_cars.htm

Nothing near 8 seconds there... why choose that figure?

I'm guessing you won't want to challenge daver to a drag race anytime soon... ;) :D

Drag racing? The nearest I get to that is at the lights, when I'm in the right hand lane which ends soon :D I tend to either wheelspin like mad, or just stall. My car wouldn't even make it to 60 in 8 seconds unless it was downhill with a backing wind.

Cause my 73 Camaro does it in 8.542 seconds from a standing start in a quarter mile.

No it is not street legal,it has no lights and 22 inch wide rear tires.
Biult on an Alston tube chasis with a fiberglas and aluminum body, powered by a 427 chevy block with Brodix heads,a Milloy supercharger, and two nitrous systems. It makes just a tick over 800 HP.

Nice ride Daver. A guy I work with had a vette similar to your setup. If it didn't start in 3-4 seconds he had to pull the plugs and swap some clean ones in.:D I love going fast but, I'm more a rally guy myself :) I love looking out the side windows while turning.
