View Full Version : Couple changes on the Homepage

In addition to the Reviews section open for business, we've made a few changes to the homepage.. did some shuffling around, and added the 'recent 10 posts' box. You'll notice they're static links rather than the scrolling marquee format, I hope this works better for everyone. You'll also see a "Hot Reviews" box, and as this section expands, you'll see the titles of all new reviews submitted. Alternatively, you can reach the Reviews section from the button on top. New buttons have also been added for the Home, Links, and a 'Contact' page has been added. The Download section is forthcoming so keep your eye on that.
I want to note that the Homepage is not formatted for Netscape 4.7 and older. It uses some newer code/tags that older versions of NS just can't read. The page will work/display in NS6+, but will not display php includes (who's online, hot topics & member news content), and again, NS is just inept at reading php includes, and unfortunately there's nothing we can do to get around that.
I also want to add that if you haven't tried the little Google search box, give it a whirl, it's FAST! LOL. I don't even use the Google site anymore :p

Chelle,
in ie6 it has just come up needing a width of 1070 to avoid a horizontal scrollbar :( other than that is looks great :)
seems like the middle section needs something to fix the width.

jema, what resolution are you using?

WinXP, ie6 and res of 1024x768 fits fine, no scroll bar needed here

Echo your specs Rids and it's okay for me too, but I just viewed at 800x600 and there's a big scroll.
I see the problem.. it's in the forum name: Firewalls, Internet Security & Networking. I've allowed so many characters for post title but that doesn't count the forum name. I might have to remove the forum name display and just have the post titles to keep the width consistant. That's what's pushing it off right now.

There, that should do it. There's a bit of a scroll at 800, perfect at 1024 and a gaping space at 1280 but it all fits :D

I think this is a false alarm, I have just switched down to 1024x768 and it came up okay..... somewhat strange....

You were probably right... I just made the change (removed the forum titles) so that's why it's okay now :)
