it was almost 80^f. here last night...computer was running fine for over an hour when the screen went black. case and CPU fans were still working but the reset and power button on the front of the case had no effect. flipping the power supply button would stop/start the fans running but no boot. in order to get the computer to boot up i had to put my classic 600 atlon. that ran fine so i swaped out the T-bird again. computer booted up fine and ran like a champ(case off) for about 20 min. of gaming, then the black screen came back. the 600 ran fine all night but the 900 kept dying. what do you make of this? does the 900 t-bird give off that much more heat than a 600 classic? i just got the 900t-bird in feb. could the 900 be overheating my GPU? the not booting thing reminds me of an un-seated AGP card symptom. i was thinking maybee the 3 year old power supply is dying and can't handle the 900 with out overheating it self and everything else near it.

thanks for reading and for your feed back and experience.

i had the 900t-bird with a VOS32 and generic thermal grease running fine for the last 3 mo.

Are you overclocking at all? I run my T-bird 850@950 running seti 24/7 and I'm around 35-37c. I think the T-birds tend to run hot but your h/s/f should take it. By any chance you room temps may have gone up? When summer comes I tend to knock mine down a little just in case. I have a smoked 1800+ that did'nt like the heat.
