MP2000+ and unlockage

got one the other day, came unlocked.

running 9x206 w/2 256 meg sticks of Samsung PC2700 and a MC462 doing the chiller chores.

sweet. and everything still works!!!

Where did you purchase your CPU from?

I take it that you are using your 8K3A for that chip. Do you experience any AGP tearing at that FSB? The reason I ask is that I will be doing an update for my review...oh and what version are you using?

yes, 8k3a+, ver 1.2.

first 8k3a+ just up and died, so while i was exchanging the motherboard i figured, WTF, and got the CPU (Fry's).

although you pay a little more, gotta love Fry's for their exchange policies (smiles and winks).

first 8k3a+ was a crappy board in comparison, this one rocks.

got the MP because i have failed three times to unlock my XP 2000+, tried rear window defogger and the Nokia strips.

yes, i HAD very slight video tearing the first two days of operation during boot and when playing games, it has since disappeared????? burnin, i guess. and the tearing didn't affect play, it was very slight and not all the time, seemed to be dependant on how busy the rendering is at the time of display.

very happy here, prolly can do more since the CPU will post to 1985, we shall see.

BTW, i saw no evidence of a 1/6 divider @200FSB and above (it shows in the bios where you adjust the FSB), so AGP and PCI are again way out of spec.

i consider myself lucky, i have heard of major tearing from other posts.

gonna creep the FSB up a bit as time goes on.

It is good ram, some of the best currently available.

Is there a problem I should be aware of???
