Waterblock-
Maze 3 "1/2" brass fittings
$42.00 dangerden.com
Would a extra top on the Maze 3 be more or less effective?
or
Gemini Cool High Flow Spiral
$40.00 dtekcustoms.com

GPU Block- I need a good recommendation on this one.

Pump- Eheim 1060 with "1/2"OD brass adaptors
Is the 1060 alittle over board, or should I go with the 1250?
Eheim 1060- $128 dangerden.com
Eheim 1250 with 1/2 adaptors- $68.00 dangerden.com

Radiator- Black Ice Extreme or a car heatercore
This SITE (http://www.heatercore4u.com/Make.htm) has many car heatercores. Though I do not know which make and model would be the most effective. I heard the Toyota's were good.
Black Ice Xtreme- $68.00 dangerden.com
Car heatercore- $25.00-$40.00 heatercore4u.com

Radiator fan- 120mm Delta 190CFM. Noise to me is not a problem (I actually kinda like it.)
$25 sidewindercomputers.com

Tubing- Tygon tubing R-3603 "1/2"ID
$2.65 per foot dtekcustoms.com
$2.90 per foot dangerden.com

Reservoir- Need a recommendation? Or should I just place a t-piece before the pump as a bleed and fill tube?

Natural Polypropylene "Y" for "1/2" Tubing
$1.75 dangerden.com
This would be for the extra AMD top on the Maze 3. Though if you guys recommend against the top, then I will not need to purchase this.

Metal Worm-drive ring clamps or worm screw type
$5.00 or less, I could probably purchase these from Home Depo/ Lowes, etc.

Case- Need a good recommendation. All I need is enough space to fit the radiator in the lower front part of the case. I'll use my Black and Decker to drill a 120mm hole. I would like it somewhat roomy.

Water Additives - Redline Water Wetter
12 ounces $7.50 dangerden.com
80 % De-ionised/distilled water / 15 % Car Anti-freeze / 5 % Redline "Water Wetter"

Water Flow: Resevoir --> Pump --> radiator --> CPU Block --> GPU Block--> Resevoir

How does this setup look? Price is not a concern, though I would like the best bang for the buck so to speak. I would like to keep it under $500 (which should be plenty, if not then I'll go for the Vapochill). Though, I want a project to keep me busy for awhile, something hands on. The Vapo would not be that fun(already pre-assembled).

I would definitely like your recommendations on the parts listed? As you can probably tell, I'm trying to purchase the most products through the same seller so shipping costs and orders will be less of a hassel. It would suck to order one part from a seller and pay twice that much just for shipping. The list I have came up with was just a "sample". If there is better out there, then please list them.

Thank you all for your time... :)

Hi moedank
Welcome to the board and sorry no one has given an answer.
I am no expert, Watercooling is just a hobby for me.
But looking at your list, you seem to have covered pretty much everything.
Not sure how much of that stuff is available in the UK.
The maze3 is one of the best if not the best wb on the market
from what I have read, The best I have seen working, are Homebrew one's. A car rad will work ok as will one off a motorcycle.
The rad is only as good as the cooling you apply to it anyway.
1/2in fitting's seem to be the way to go, and the Eheim 1250 should do the job with no problems.
It may pay to see what Rad you settle for , before buying the case, to make sure it will fit.
It should keep you busy for a little while, have fun and do let us know how it goes.

Regards
Jed;)

just curious...have anyone seen a review of the Maze3 yet? it's been out for this long...and still no reviews (atleast that I can find)...

moedank:

looks like you got a good parts list there...regarding GPU block...what kind of video card do you got? I also believe DangerDen has a decent reservoir now...but I prefer to run without a res myself (takes up too much space...and doesn't help cooling anyway)...I use two T-pieces...one as low as possible (for filling), and one as high as possible (for venting the air that is replaced)...I think the 1250 is more than powerful enough...and I guess...a slightly less risk for getting leaks...as for a case...well I'm happy with mine...it's an Addtronics 7896A (old I know)...but more than enough room for a 2X120mm fan sized rad in the front lower section, and has a filter in the front biezel too...and wheels :)

welcome to the board :wavey:

sorry i didn't reply earlier but i was in italy so i guess i can be forgiven ;)

ummm all the stuff you have chosen is excellent you've obviously been reading up on it all.

flow rate isn't allways the best thing to go for if you look at systems like the swiftech quiet power you'll see it uses the 1040 eheim which is smaller than the 1250 and it still works brilliantly because it's been specially tuned.

if your looking for best bang per buck i would seriously look at a quiet power case especially the TEC version as you will get amasing cooling for very little hassle. if you want a project then your going the right way.

i would get the following

maze 3-1
eheim 1250
BIX rad
some form of resovoir (waterproof electrical box)
any case you like... antec are good
gpu block... do you really need it? if so what about graphics card memory blocks too? tricky...

i suggest the maze 3-1 simply because you don't have to use the pelt plate but if you fancy a boost to your cooling system later you have the option of adding a pelt. get decent screws for this kit the nylon ones are useless.
also see if you can grab the swiftech waterproofing kit. the one they sell with thier TEC blocks because it is brilliant. and yes i recommend the copper topped maze3.... every little helps ;)

eheim 1250... brilliant pump... if anything you'll need to slow it down, and it's silent.

BIX very quiet, out performs an aquacoil. heater cores will be as good.. possibly better but they are more hassle... saying that i am planning on a heater core... if i had the £££'s i'd buy a BIX though

thats about all i can think of right now... i'm a little tired from the hols...
