I've noticed on running Sandra and PCPitstop that my SMBIOS says I only have 256MB RAM installed, but Windows XP shows the full 512MB. Is this causing a problem in the system? Could it be the cause of the ocasional crash I get? For example, I can NOT run the Sandra memory benchmarks. Every time I attempt it, the system restarts within a minute or 2. Even with no OC'ing.
I read somewhere that I should put one of my DIMM's into DIMM SLot 1, and leave the other in DIMM slot 4 with this board. Any advice?

Yes the first slot has to have the Dimm, do you have 2 sticks or 1? The dimm furthest from the cpu is slot 1.

My apologies, I had the order reveresed. I have 2 sticks of 256, one in DIMM Slot 1, the other in DIMM Slot 2. Should I leave the DIMM in Slot 2, or should I move it to DIMM Slot 4? Will this increase stability, or will it work at all?

I hope you don't mind the correction, but actually the DIMM furthest from the CPU is #4. The one closest is #1.
Memory in the KG7 should be filled DIMMs 4 to 1. I have found the best slots for 2 sticks are 4 and 2 for stability...try it. Many have found thiat to help.

Remember when putting in the Dimm's that you really have to push them down into the slot. Make sure you put the Ram into slot4 and you can leave it in slot1. Make sure they are really in there cuase the KG7-Raind has a tight fit for the Dimms.
