well i don't know, but like fluke said last year "high bw , inet servers" cost some serious $$$ :-((
but still he managed to get us another year :-)
and if now someone can take over de site, it might be saved (yeahh :-)
this site was made voor for the ninjamicros GFD ( /me still has mine :-), but i sold the athy classic and the dude didn't want the device ????
it could get my old thrusty classic 500 to 700 mhz even 750 with vos 32 with my case AND soms serious coolers :-) and it didn't even was a very good core( only a 500 :-(. i couldn't expect more since i bought it the day it was available in belgium, and the athy was afterall a brand new chip.
man was i proud on my 750 athy when even the most of the belgian pc-shops didn't even heard of the "new" AMD athlon.

Best of wishes to you Fluke in whatever you do after and to you NY in what you are attempting to do :)
This place is a very nice, friendly, comfortable little rest stop here, would hate to see it go away :(

I'm on board for whatever we need to get done to keep NM up. Just let me know what is needed and I'll see what is in my power to do. Too many good sites have gone down and NM can't leave the net.
Good luck Fluke and fare you well in all you strive to do. I hope you will still be hanging around here

Hey, NY,
I have no clue where is the Mantua, NJ... but I believe that is it not far away from Brooklyn/NY.
What I'm trying to say... in case you need some human power/help let me know. Or maybe help in programming... dunno...
I really do not want this site to go down.

I see a few people talking about donations. But what is really needed is people prepared to put some effort in.
The actual physical cost of hosting a site is minimal these days and ninja owns a licence for vBulletin and could always switch to a perfectly good free BB system if need be.
The host costs for ninja through f5hosting are about £120 a year. My site http://www.marsjupiter.com/seti is also hosted via f5 and whilst there has actually been no advertsing revenue at for the last few months, a few click through banner ads have made about £50 in the last 6 months, hopefully this approach could unobtrusively cover ninja's costs.
The real question is the cost of the effort that will need to be made to build ninja back up to a new glory and whether whoever takes over sees this as a labour of love (which I for one would volenteer effort to support) or as a commercial exercise built around some form of retail site?
If it is to be the latter, then it will raise potential conflicts, we have always enjoyed freedon of speech on ninja in a way that is not allowed on OcUk where the BB is very much subservient to the business :( and some people who currently work hard to support the board may not be keen to act as volenteer labour making money for someone else!
