Paramount will release a new director's cut DVD of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan on Aug. 6, the official Star Trek Web site reported. The director's edition DVD will feature a new cut of the movie and more than four hours of bonus material, the site reported.
The two-disc edition will feature commentary by director Nicholas Meyer; all-new interviews with Meyer, stars William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and Ricardo Montalban and writer/executive producer Harve Bennett; a feature comparing Trek I and II; a visual-effects featurette; and interviews with Trek novelists, among other things. The DVD will carry a suggested price of $24.99.
